The coffee machine has a fresh water supply line (6) discharging into a hot water boiler (3) and guided away from a hot water line (5). An air guide line (15) is discharged into the hot water line and attached to an air source i.e. air pump (16). A locking valve (17) is inserted in the air guide line. A drain line (11) is inserted in the hot water line between the hot water boiler and a brewing chamber. The drain line is controlled by a valve (10). A heating device (12) is arranged in a part of the hot water line.
