The system (1) has a coating station (4) for coating rolls of web material (2.1-2.n) with packing materials (11.1-11.n) and front covers (12.1-12.n). Supply regions (8, 9.1, 9.2) supply the packing materials and the front covers. The coating station and the supply regions define a packing region (10). A conditioning zone (3) conditions the packing materials, such that the packing materials are adaptable to air humidity and temperature within the packing region. The conditioning zone is formed within a packing system area (7) that is defined by spatial extension of the packing system. An independent claim is also included for a method for improving packing quality in a packing system.
