A system (2) is described for preventing injury and/or trauma to an occupant of a vehicle (1), comprising a sensor system (3) for measuring monitoring values associated with an impact condition of the vehicle (1); a sensory stimulation device (4) for generating stimulation signals on predefined parts of the user's body; a processing and control unit (5) configured to predict, as a function of the monitoring values, the time of impact (tu) of the vehicle (1), so as to activate the sensory stimulation device (4) in order to generate stimulation signals at a point in time (ti), which is a set time in advance (Δt) of the time of impact (tu), so that the stimulation effect on the occupant is complete at the time of impact (tu).
