Mortise lock with variable backset and variable distance between two casing-sections

The lock has an upper housing section comprising cases (5, 6) retracted by rotation of a latch nut (9) around a latch nut rotation axis (11) against a restoring force of a latch spring (19). A lower housing section has lock bars that are advanced or infer back by rotation of a key around a key rotation axis (13). A cuff plate (22) comprises a case window for passage of a head of the case and a locking window for passage of a lock bar head (7). The housing sections are fixed to each other by pin unit based on extension direction of the cuff plate in different spacing layers (A).
