SIDE TILT LEVER ASSEMBLY FOR COLLISION PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT OF A VEHICLE STEERING DEVICE TO OBTAIN ENOUGH SUPPORTING FORCE THROUGH A TILT LEVER WITHOUT A SEPARATE BRACKET
PURPOSE: A side tilt lever assembly for collision performance enhancement of a vehicle steering device is provided to reduce injuries to a driver due to the deformation of a steering column and a tilt-bracket caused by collision by coupling a tilt-bracket on the housing to absorb shock energy.;CONSTITUTION: A side tilt lever assembly for collision performance enhancement of a vehicle steering device comprises a tilt-bracket(2), a housing(7), an inner tube(12), and a damping member(16). The tilt-bracket is composed of a contact projection and an extended body(5). The contact projection is formed at the inner side of the bracket body. The extended body is extended to one side of the bracket body without the contact projection. The housing has the contact projection on the surface facing the tilt-bracket. The contact projection of the housing is coupled with the contact projection inside the tilt-bracket. The inner tube axially moves during telescopic operation.
