PURPOSE: An apparatus for keeping blast furnace main runner warm using carbonized heat insulation material is provided to prevent a certain part of molten material from solidifying until the next tap hole is opened by injecting a fixed quantity of the carbonized heat insulation material into molten material collected in the main runner. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus(10) for keeping molten material of blast furnace main runner warm, the apparatus comprises a heat insulation material injection port cover(12) comprising an opening formed to a side of the main runner, and a resting member formed on the circumference of the opening; a T character shaped heat insulation material guiding member(38) penetrated in a supported longitudinal direction from the resting member with being inserted into the opening; a heat insulation material hopper(20) which is fixed to the cover, and in which discharge port(24) is projected into the guiding member; an upper cone fixed to the cover by a clamping means inside a penetration hole of the guiding member; a lower cone(60) arranged at a lower side of the upper cone in such a manner that the lower cone is movable up and down; and first cylinder fixed to the cover to lift and lower the lower cone, wherein the inner wall of the main body comprises upper contact surface(46) and lower contact surface(48) inclined to the same angle so that the upper contact surface and the lower contact surface are contacted with the upper surface of the upper and lower cones.
