PURPOSE: A digital television which can add an additional function and a method of executing the additional function are provided to enable a user to conveniently add an additional function and control the digital television by an accustomed portable terminal UI(User Interface). CONSTITUTION: A local communication unit(180) performs wireless data communication with a portable device. A storage medium(150) stores an additional program for an additional function. A controller(140) executes the additional program according to selection of a user. An indication analysis module interprets a signal inputted through the local communication unit from the portable device as an indication about the additional program. A remote controller registration module registers the portable device transferring the indication of the user.
