PURPOSE: A navigation device and a method for controlling touch screen thereof are provided to prevent wrong operation of menu items by controlling the activation state of the touch screen.;CONSTITUTION: If a user touches the protrusion of the center area of the touch screen, the protrusion touch detector detects the detection signal. The touch detector outputs the detection signal to the CPU(Central Processing Unit). According to the detection signal, the above CPU controls the backlight module. Therefore, the touch screen module is the inactivated state, it is switched to the active state.
