A COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE FRUIT EXTRACT OF PLATYCARYA STROBILACEA HAVING SKIN WHITING ACTIVITY

PURPOSE: A skin whitening composition containing Platycarya strobilacea fruit extract is provided to suppress tyrosinase activation and melanogenesis of B16 malanoma and to use in pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions for whitening. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical and cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains 0.01-50 weight% of Platycarya strobilacea fruits extract as an active ingredient. A crude extract of Platycarya strobilacea is obtained using water, low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, propyleneglycol, butyleneglycol or glycerin. The composition contains soluble extract isolated using hexane, acetic acid ethyl, butanol, or water. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of skin lotion, skin softener, astringent, lotion, milk lotion, moisture lotion, nutrition lotion, hand cream, foundation, essence, pack, soap, and cleansing lotion. The pharmaceutical composition is used in the form of cream, gel, spray, ointment, lotion, liniment, paste or cataplasma.
