BUMPER STAY FOR A VEHICLE FOR SOFTENING THE SHOCK BY ABSORBING AND DECENTRALIZING THE SHOCK TRANSFERRED THROUGH A BUMPER BEAM THREE TIMES

PURPOSE: A bumper stay for a vehicle is provided to enhance the performance of absorbing the shock by transferring the reduced shock to a side member after absorbing and decentralizing the shock three times.;CONSTITUTION: A vehicle bumper stay(1) consists of the front and rear stay housings(10,20) in a square pipe shape. The front stay housing comprises a plurality of notch grooves(11) on the peripheral surface along the length direction. The leading end of the front stay housing is fixed to the back side of a bumper beam(5). While the leading end of the rear stay housing is inserted into the rear of the front stay housing, the back end of the front stay housing and the peripheral surface of the leading end of the rear stay housing are welded. The rear stay housing comprises a protruded sill(21) and a mounting flange(30). The protruded sill is formed at one side of the peripheral surface. The mounting flange is integrally fixed into to the back end. The rear stay housing is installed at a side member.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
