The bumper (1) has a collision detection sensor that is provided to detect the collision of bumper of motor car with pedestrian. The shock absorbing foam element (5) made of thermoplastic foam such as expanded polypropylene is arranged in the bumper crossbeam (3). The collision detection sensor is provided with a hose (7) which is foamed into the shock absorbing foam element. The hose made of flexible plastic material such as elastomer is filled with air. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing bumper.
