BUMPER STAY FOR A VEHICLE, CAPABLE OF ABSORBING AND DECENTRALIZING THE SHOCK BY A SHOCK ABSORPTION UNIT TWO TIMES

PURPOSE: A bumper stay for a vehicle is provided to enhance the performance of absorbing and decentralizing the shock by further installing a shock absorption unit at a small diameter pipe to absorb and decentralize the shock transferred through a bumper beam two times and then to transfer the reduced shock to a vehicle body.;CONSTITUTION: A vehicle bumper stay(1) consists of a front and rear brackets(5,7), a stay housing(10), and a shock absorption unit(20). The front bracket is fastened to the back side of a bumper beam. The rear bracket is fastened to a side member. Both ends of the stay housing are fixed to the front and rear brackets, respectively. A small diameter pipe(11) of the front of and a large diameter pipe(13) of the rear of the stay housing are bent and connected at the center. The shock absorption unit is inserted into the small diameter pipe of the stay housing and absorbs/decentralizes the shock transferred through a bumper beam.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
