TWIN-ROLL TYPE STRIP CASTER HAVING AN INTEGRATED GAS SEALING APPARATUS TO SEAL THE GAPS BETWEEN A CASTING MOLD COVER, AN EDGE DAM, AND A CASTING ROLL

PURPOSE: A twin-roll type strip caster having an integrated gas sealing apparatus is provided to prevent the abrasion of an edge dam by absorbing an impact using an elastic member and a guide and to minimize deformation due to the heat of molten steel.;CONSTITUTION: A twin-roll type strip caster comprises two casting rolls(1), an edge dam(3), a casting mold cover(7), and a gas sealing apparatus. The gas sealing apparatus comprises a resilient pad(8c) and a gas sealing supporting part. The resilient pad is integrally formed in order to seal gaps between the casting mold cover and the top and the lateral sides of the edge dam. The gas sealing supporting part is fixed to the top and the lateral sides of the edge dam in order to support the resilient pad. The gas sealing supporting part is composed of a gas sealing case(9), a resilient pad support(13), and an elastic member(10). The gas sealing case is fixed to the top and the lateral sides of the edge dam. The elastic member is inserted between the gas sealing case and the resilient pad support.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
