The present invention is a twin roll sheet metal casting apparatus for casting ferrous and nonferrous metals and alloys directly from molten metal. The twin roll type sheet casting for analyzing the cause of leakage of molten steel by continuously measuring and analyzing the gap generated between the roll and the edge dam. In the edge dam of the gap measuring and analyzing device between the roll of the device and the edge dam, a length measuring sensor is attached at four corners between the edge dam holder and the edge dam support, and the data and processing and analyzer are mounted to roll and edge during casting. It allows the on-line measurement and analysis of the occurrence of gaps causing melt leakage between dams, while the length measuring sensor facilitates the measurement of the overall gap generation on the floating steel structure outside the edge dam support.
