PURPOSE: A data backup system of a memory card and a method thereof are provided to automatically backup data of a memory card of a portable digital device to a main device of a device like a computer by a wireless, thereby providing convenience to a user.;CONSTITUTION: A memory card is inserted into a card insertion part. A portable reader(100) transmits data of the inserted memory card to an external device connected with wireless. The portable reader requests backup of data in the external device. If a storage of data of the portable reader is completed, a main store unit(200) transmits the completion of backup to the portable reader.
