A method of optical analysis and structural isomers by separation of the mixture being analyzed in the composite sorbent liquid crystal containing smectic-nematic liquid crystal of 4-n-octyloxy-4'-cyanobiphenyl and a chiral macrocyclic modified β-cyclodextrin, followed by determination of retention characteristics of the test substances on the results of the chromatographic measurement signals obtained from the chromatogram, characterized in that the chiral additives are used macrocyclic modified β-qi lodekstrin- (heptakis-2,3,6-O-acetyl) -β-cyclodextrin in an amount of 10% by weight of the liquid crystal.
