The system has a hazard sensor (11) e.g. track sensor, generating a hazard signal, and connected with a central control unit (10). Brake actuators (6-9) of a motor vehicle (1) e.g. small-sized passenger car, are activated by the control unit according to a predetermined pattern. The control unit activates the brake actuator (6) of a left front wheel (2) and the brake actuator (7) of a right front wheel (3) in a cyclically alternating manner, such that strong braking force is generated on a side of the vehicle as on another side of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for haptic warning of a driver of a motor vehicle based on a signal of a hazard sensor.
