The method involves providing a pressurized fiber-optic cable (12), and enclosing a measuring-technical and/or data transmitting fiber optic in the fiber-optic cable. A borehole cable is rinsed by flow of dried gases, and the gases are guided through a gas transporting tube (10) attached to the borehole cable, where the fiber optic cable runs in the gas transporting tube and a casing of the fiber optic cable is metallic tubes. A gas inlet channel (26) is provided at a stating point of a side piece (11') of the gas transporting tube. An independent claim is also included for a borehole cable comprising a gas transporting tube with a side piece.
