The stopper (1) has a housing arranged at a deck of a ship, and an adjusting unit (12) comprising coupling members (13, 14), where each coupling member is hinged at a lashing slide (9) and at locking levers (10, 11). A pivoting area of the coupling members is defined at both sides of a middle dead point position. Each locking lever is pivoted around a mounting at the lashing slide in the dead point position, so that the each locking lever is attached to a chain member of an anchor chain (6) to be stopped at a free end.
