The plant has a stationary machine part, a movable machine part (1) i.e. electric train, and a feeding unit (P1) for supplying direct current voltage (DC) to the movable machine part via a contact line (2). The feeding unit is encompassed by the stationary machine part. The feeding unit is supplied with alternating current voltage from an alternating current supply network. The feeding unit comprises an electric rectifier for producing the direct current voltage. A coupling unit (K1) exhibits an impedance for compensating length-variable inductance of the contact line.
