The printing machine has a printing tower (01) with two printing units (08), where a drier is arranged in the clearance between folding machine and an adjacent printing tower. A diverting unit conveys the material web (B), after traversing the printing units, to the drier arranged downstream to the side of the printing tower facing the clearance and subsequently conveyed between the printing units through the printing tower on the other side of the printing tower out of the folding machine. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a printing machine.
