The invention relates to a method for determination of a wheel base (l) of a vehicle (1) with at least two axes (fa, ra), wherein during at least one of the vehicle is threading a curve (1) measuring signals (ω; nFl, nFr, nRl, nRr, q) of the vehicle (1) are absorbed, and of at least the measurement signals (ω; nFl, nFr, nRl, nRr) the wheel base (l) is determined. In this case, in particular the wheel speeds for the determination of the wheel speeds and a yaw rate is measured and determined from geometrical calculations of the wheel base.Furthermore, a vehicle control system for use of the inventive method.
