The method involves providing image datas detected by an image producing system that is arranged in a temporal distance from an investigation object e.g. human, having rigid elements e.g. bones and teeth. The rigid elements are detected in both the image datas. The image datas are segmented for producing segmented image datas (A, B). The rigid elements that are detected in both the segmented image datas are identified. The identified rigid elements are individually registered in segmented image data volume (A') assigned to the segmented image datas. The image producing system is a computed tomography system, positron emission tomography system, single photon emission tomography system, ultrasonic system and magnetic resonance tomography system.
