The body e.g. friction ring (13), has a locking tooth (10) for a contact with friction partners e.g. counter cone (4) and outer synchronizer ring (8). A friction body material (17) consists of friction grains (18) and a connection material (19) e.g. resin or plastic, where the friction grains are mixed with the connection material. The friction grains are selected from a titanium dioxide, molybdenum, carbide compound, oxide compound, silicide compound and/or boride compound. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a friction body.
