The vehicle roof has a folding top (2) movable from a closed condition to an opened condition. A roof opening (7) is closed in the closed condition of the folding top. A water guide is arranged in an area of the roof opening. Water inlet openings drain water falling at the vehicle roof. The roof opening is partially covered by a panel (3). The water guide comprises channels that are arranged along the roof opening and are merged in a rear area of the vehicle roof in a water retaining chamber (31). The water retaining chamber is covered by the panel.
