The roof (7) has a rear roof unit (14) movable with a guiding system, which operates in a vertical direction of a motor vehicle i.e. passenger car (1), between a high position and a lowered position. The rear roof unit overlaps a front roof unit (12) with the shape of a structure (3) and a determined roof section in the lowered position. The vehicle is attached to a structure and movable from a closed position to an open position. The roof is foldedly stored in a retainer chamber, in the open position, and the roof covers the vehicle interior in the closed position.
