The device has a measuring sleeve (20) designed as a cylindrical sleeve in a radial direction in a resilient manner. The sleeve is molded such that the sleeve is attached at a fuel injection valve (1) in a form fit manner so that widening of the fuel injection valve caused by the inner pressure guides to the widening of the measuring sleeve. Sensor elements (25) i.e. strain gauges, record the widening of the measuring sleeve. The sensor elements are attached at the measuring sleeve. The measuring sleeve is slotted over an entire length of the device. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring fuel inner pressure in the fuel injection valve utilized for fuel injection directly in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
