The device (1) has a pressing unit (3.2) e.g. offset press, forming a press gap (4.3) without a covering i.e. felt band. Another press gap (4.2) without a covering is formed at the pressing unit. The gaps are formed in a guiding direction of a material web (M). The pressing unit includes two individual pressing rollers (7, 8) e.g. hollow rollers, which are arranged relative to a central pressing roller (6) such that the web between the gaps is wound around a portion of an outer circumference (9) of the central pressing roller in an angle (alpha) ranging between 30 degrees and 120 degrees.
