The system has a data input for receiving direction indicator information of a motor vehicle, and a processor device designed for estimating a route from a starting point to a destination point of the motor vehicle, where the system is coupled with a direction indicator system. The processor device prognosticates a deviation from the estimated route based on the comparison between the route and the information, and calculates an alternative route during prognosis of the deviation from the estimated route. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a navigation system and a direction indicator system.
