The method involves coordinating charging of an electrical drive energy storage i.e. accumulator, that supplies power to a drive motor with charging of a power supply energy storage i.e. accumulator, that supplies power to vehicle electronics, such that the power supply energy storage is charged in a charging phase (9) of the electrical drive energy storage. Minimum necessary power supply (10) of the vehicle electronics is supplied by an external power source during charging of electrical drive energy storage by the external power source.
