The method involves inserting a neutral identification card (3) i.e. standard format chip card, in a tachograph (5). The card is connected to an enterprise card (2), by a connection cable (4) via a wireless Bluetoothtransmitter such that the neutral card reproduces identification information of the enterprise card so as to permit the tachograph to identify the neutral card as an authentic card for providing access to data. The connection between the cards is interrupted when duration between the neutral card insertion and data collection and storage exceeds a preset duration. An independent claim is also included for a device for recuperating data from a tachograph, comprising secure case.
