The invention relates to a device for managing the state of charge of the battery of a vehicle (SOC) comprising a hybrid traction system, means for measuring the state of charge of the battery and control means of the battery. the hybrid traction system according to a first so-called normal control law imposing a first setpoint value of the state of charge (SOC). The device comprises means for acquiring geographical coordinates of final destinations (position F) for which the vehicle is put in parking mode, means for calculating the distance separating the vehicle from the final destination, means acting on the means of control of the hybrid traction system when this distance becomes less than a determined distance (d) for applying a second so-called specific control law requiring a decrease of the state of charge so that it reaches a lower state of charge value at a second setpoint value (SOC), lower than the first setpoint value (SOC).
