The method involves selecting a sign of value of maximum phase at ends of an array type radar antenna i.e. plane radar antenna, according to desired distribution of radiated energy in front of the antenna. A control signal is transmitted by an inlet and delivered to sub-arrays of an electronically-scanned antenna, where each sub-array includes four aerial radiation elements. The desired distribution is considered in any point of a zone located at a distance from center of the antenna. An independent claim is also included for an array type radar antenna.
