PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grit chamber facility the cost of which can be reduced and which can be easily maintained, and a removal method of grit using the facility.;SOLUTION: The grit chamber facility is provided wherein a suction pipe 1 for sucking is disposed in grit pits 12A-12K set in the grit chamber 10, and the grit accumulated in the grit pits 12A-12K is discharged together with drain by connecting the suction pipe 1 to a discharge system 6. The discharge system 6 is composed of a vacuum pump 6' and a plurality of storage chambers 601, 602 (161, 162) serving as recovery tanks.
