PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and accurately identify an image for a search which has a subject same as an inspection image.;SOLUTION: An image comparing device 100 compares the inspected images as an object of inspection with the searching image which includes a predetermined object to be searched for. The image comparing device 100 is equipped with a searching image providing part 128 which can provide different searching images for the same object to be searched for, an image acquisition part 108 which acquires subject state information regarding the state of a subject included in the inspection image at the photography time and selectively obtains one or more searching images corresponding to the subject state information acquired from the searching image providing part 128, and an image identifying part 126 which compares the searching images that the image acquisition part 108 acquires with the inspection image so as to specify a searching images having he object same as the inspection image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
