PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder for an electrohydraulic braking system realizing a simulation pedal feeling extremely close to a reaction of a conventional braking circuit.;SOLUTION: A resilient returning means is formed, which includes a coil spring having a wound wire provided with a fixing base at a first end and is a helical shape comprising a wound wire and is wound in a reverse direction and in which a base is polygonal. A bored body and a piston sealingly slidably mounted in the bore are included. A resilient means includes at least one first coil spring and a second coil spring. The first coil spring is provided with a first wound wire and is mounted while it is supported between a second surface of the piston of a cartridge and a bottom of the cartridge.
