PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roughness standard piece that can keep desired surface roughness and is easily produced.;SOLUTION: The roughness standard piece 10 used for calibration of a roughness measuring instrument comprises a reference body 12 that is obtained by butting resin on a die having fine irregularity establishing desired surface roughness and has a fine irregularity 12a corresponding to the irregularity of the die, and a protective layer 14 that is tightly stuck onto the reference body 12 with a uniform thickness and a desired hardness. The protective layer 14 has the same irregularity 14a as that of the reference body 12, and the irregularity 14a of the protective layer 14 is used for calibration of the roughness measuring instrument.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
