PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing apparatus capable of uniformly and continuously washing the whole surface of a lengthy material to be washed without giving a damage even in the material to be washed having a low heat-resistance and in the material to be washed having a low mechanical strength, and a washing method wherein an organic solvent is not used and over-heated water vapor is used.;SOLUTION: The saturated water vapor generated in a vapor boiler 1 is introduced into a washing chamber 8 as the over-heated water vapor in an over-heated vapor generation apparatus 2, and a lengthy soldering tape 11 wound on a reel 9 is fed from an opening at a lower side of the washing chamber 8 as the material to be washed, is taken out from an opening at an upper part and is rolled-up on a reel 10.
