PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring a specimen containing high- concentration C-reactive protein without diluting it while avoiding a prozone phenomenon and to provide a reagent used therein.;SOLUTION: C-reactive protein is measured by using a compound having a phosphoryl choline group and cationic group expressed by the general expression I (where, R1, R2, R3 are hydrogen, substitution or non-substitution alkyl, or substitution or non-substitution alkenyl, and X- is an inorganic negative ion or an organic negative ion) and an antibody to the C-reactive protein. Or, the protein is measured by using a surfactant having a phosphoryl choline group, a surfactant having a cationic group expressed by the general expression II (where, Y1 is a hydrophobic group, and R1, R2, R3 are hydrogen, substitution or non-substitution alkyl, or substitution or non-substitution alkenyl) and an antibody to the protein. Preferably, a water insoluble antibody carried on a carrier such as polystyrene latex is used as the antibody to the protein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
