PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for controlling fruit sugar content capable of controlling water to be absorbed by plants.;SOLUTION: This system for controlling fruit sugar content has a water measuring means 11 which outputs the measured value of water in soil on which a plant bearing fruits is planted, and a sugar content detecting means 16 which judges the sugar content of a fruit based on the optical detected result of the fruit, and a memorizing means 43 which memorizes control lower limit value data 57 and control higher limit value data 56 of water in soil changed according to the judgement based on sugar content detected with the sugar content detecting means 16. A control performing means 52 supplies water or nutrient water from supply nozzles 3 and 4 to soil through opening an opening and closing valve 5 when a water measured value with the water measuring means 11 is below the control lower limit value data 57 memorized with the memorizing means 43, and closes the opening closing valve 5 when a water measured value with the water measuring means 11 is above the control higher limit value data 56 memorized with the memorizing means 43.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
