PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drawing device capable of restraining a delay, as to the drawing device applied for an electronic camera, for example, and for drawing an image of a drawing or a character on a target image in response to an operation of a pointing device such as a touch panel.;SOLUTION: Target image data are written into a drawing area of an SDRAM 30, and a CPU 24 executes lowering-directional resolution change processing for the image data in the drawing area. The results of the resolution change processing are written into a display area of the SDRAM 30, and an LCD monitor 34 displays a resolution image based on the image data in the display area, on a display face. A detection face of the touch panel 26 is layered on the display face, and the CPU 24 detects repeatingly a position of a touch point through the detection face, when a touch operation onto the touch panel 26 is executed to draw the drawing or the character on the image of the display face, and carries out drawing processing by a point unit, on the image data in the drawing area, based on detection results.
