ABSTRACT A attaching means (95, 395, 396, 499, 595, 695) composed of a hole or a groove is formed in the leg (40) of a tripod (10, 210, 310, 410) or another member (92, 192, 292, 492) attached to the legs (40). A support member (82, 182, 282, 382, 482, 582, 682) inserted in the attaching means (95, 395, 396, 499, 595, 695) is so disposed as to extend in a direction from the attaching means (95, 395, 396, 499, 595, 695) to the ground, toward which direction the tripod is liable to overturn. Therefore, overturning of the tripod can be reliably prevented by a simple operation.
