An incontinence device (10, 100) for preventing urinary, bowel or esophageal leakage comprising: an occlusive member (12, 102) adapted to be implanted in a host and disposed around a body passage (52, 152) for waste outlet; a control mechanism (14, 104) operatively connected with the occluding member (12, 102), said control mechanism (14, 104) an actuator (11, 101) and a deactivator (13, 103), adapted to be implanted in the host and to control said occluding member (12, 102) closing the body passageway (52, 152) in an occluded state or open the bodily duct (52, 152) in a non-occluded state; characterized by further comprising a drug coating (18, 28) including a bioaffecting composition thereon, it said drug coating (18, 28) disposed as a layer on an outer surface of both said occluding member being (12 , 102) and said control mechanism (14, 104), the actuator (11, 101) and quencher (13, 103), said drug coating (18, 28) being adapted to elute the bioaffecting composition into the surrounding host tissue, wherein said drug coating (18, 28) minimizes capsular formation resulting from a bodily response of the host and facilitates function of the incontinence device in preventing urinary or intestinal losses.
