Provided is a novel and non-natural sialic acid-containing sugar chain compound, which has a binding activity to a viral particle and remains stable even in the presence of sialidase, obtained by using a reaction with the use of a glycosyltransferase having high substrate specificity and high reaction selectivity.A compound having a sugar chain structure represented by general formula (1): Siaα2-3(Siaα2-6)Galβ1-4(Fucα1-3)GlcNAc (1), or a salt thereof.
