Provided is a method for evaluating antioxidative capacity using an electron spin resonance device, whereby the antioxidative capacity of a living organism can be evaluated without damaging the living organism such as a disease organism or cells. Also provided is said device.The method for evaluating the antioxidative capacity of a living organism comprises: a step for administering a reagent containing a free radical to the living organism; a first measurement step for measuring the free radical in a tissue fluid, which is collected from the living organism, using an electron spin resonance device; a step for re-radicalizing the tissue fluid having been collected from the living organism; a second measurement step for measuring the free radical in the re-radicalized tissue fluid using the electron spin resonance device; and a step for calculating the first and second free radical amounts from the measurement results obtained in the first and second measurement steps and comparing these amounts.
