There is described a device (100) for protecting the eyesight, particularly of a child watching the television, comprising a box-type body (10) suitable for being positioned close to a television (200), position sensors (12) housed in the box-type body (10) and suitable for detecting a child staying within a respective operating area, and power supply means (16). The device (100) further comprises receiving means (13), transmitting means (15) and an electronic processing unit (18) in electrical connection with the position sensors (12) and the receiving (13) and transmitting (15) means, housed in the box-type body (10).
