PURPOSE: A Plutella xylostella-derived tyrosine hydroxylase gene is provided to ensure various physiological function and to develop agricultural chemical for preventing insect pest. CONSTITUTION: A Plutella xylostella-derived tyrosine hydroxylase protein comprises an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. A gene encoding the tyrosine hydroxylase protein contains a nucleotide of sequence number 1. An agricultural chemical for preventing from insect pest contains the tyrosine hydroxylase protein as an active ingredient. A primer set for amplifying tyrosine hydroxylase gene comprises an oligonucleotide of sequence numbers 3 and 4.
