PURPOSE: An expansion joint for allowing lateral displacement is provided to prevent a finger plate from being damaged or deformed by minimizing shock occurred by a finger plate collision.;CONSTITUTION: An expansion joint for allowing lateral displacement comprises multiple separation prevention holes(10a,10b), a first finger plate(11a), a pair of sliding rails(12), wedge-shaped sliding blocks(13), and a second finger plate(11b). The separation prevention holes are buried in the ends of a pair of bridge upper plates. The first finger plate is fixed to the end of one bridge upper plate. The sliding rails are fixed to the top end of the other bridge upper plate. The sliding blocks are coupled to the sliding rails. The second finger plate is fixed to the sliding block to be located on the top of the sliding rails and sliding blocks.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
