PURPOSE: A method for reducing centerline segregation of a continuously cast slab is provided to achieve effect similar to soft reduction without employing separate soft reduction equipment.;CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing centerline segregation of a continuously cast slab is as follows. Molten metal is passed through a mold(80) so that a solidified layer is formed on the surface of the molten metal. A slab(20) formed with the solidified layer is passed between casting rollers and cooled by spraying cooling water. The cooling step includes a period for maintaining uniform thickness of the slab and a period for reducing the interval between the casting rollers according to the thickness of the shrunken slab by the target thickness of the slab.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
