ROUTE CACULATION METHOD FOR ANTIPODAL POINTS ON THE EARTH ELLIPSOID

PURPOSE: A route calculating method for antipodal points on the earth ellipsoid is provided to supply a calculation solution for accurate distance and bearing between a reference point and a target point. CONSTITUTION: A distance and bearing is calculated using vincenty inverse(S110). It is determined whether a solution for the distance and bearing exists(S120). When the solution for the distance and bearing exists, the calculation is normally performed using vincenty inverse(S130). The angle between the reference point and the target point is 1801(S140). The distances and bearings among the reference point and a temporary point as well as the target point and the temporary point are calculated and summed(S190).
